East Hill CSA

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It is a partnership between the growers of good food and the people who like to eat it. As a member of our CSA, you support the young farmers of the Folk Art Guild by paying for 5 months of food in the winter. Then, throughout the growing season, you receive a share of our produce once a week and get to experience the joys of fresh, delicious food carefully grown using sustainable and environmentally responsible methods.Becoming a member of our CSA is a way to share in the bounty and the risks of vegetable growing. It is also a great way to get connected with your food and form nourishing relationships with a community that values the work and careful attention that goes into growing food. You’ll get to know the people who grow your food and care about the health of you and your family, and you’ll have the opportunity to come out to the farm and experience the fun and hard work of growing food for yourself!

Farming Practices: East Hill Farm focuses on growing the healthiest and tastiest food for your body, your family, and the environment.We never use pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or any other chemicals in our growing practices. We never grow genetically modified organisms. All of the produce in your share, including fruit, is grown at East Hill Farm in Middlesex, NY using organic methods.We grow primarily heirloom varieties of produce and purchase organic seed whenever possible. We try to plant delicious varieties that have been passed down for generations.Our labor comes from the three young farmers living at East Hill Farm (read more about us on the “Farmers” page), plus a summer intern. Additional labor is provided by travelers, artists, gardeners, and other generally interesting people who volunteer through several agricultural networking websites (mostly WWOOF, HelpX, and GrowFood) in exchange for full room and board, as well as the chance to live and learn in our beautiful community.We have signed NOFA-NY’s Farmer’s Pledge.
